Cloud Electronics was founded in this period by Roy Millington and Andrew Colley to serve this industry with purpose-designed professional audio tools. Seeing that conventional hi-fi could not cope with continuous commercial use, they developed robust, flexible, great-sounding products for clubs, bars and similar venues, aiming for technically advanced yet easy-to-use systems that delivered consistent sound quality.
Over more than 30 years, demand for Cloud’s “clearly better sound” has grown with rising expectations for audio quality in public spaces. As the market for background and foreground music, paging and zoned audio expanded, Cloud broadened its range from compact mixers and amplifiers for small spaces to complex systems managing multiple zones and sources.
Today, Cloud equipment is installed in over 100,000 commercial venues worldwide. Its systems are used on cruise ships, in houses of worship, five-star hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants and global high street chains, where consistent, high-quality audio is central to the customer experience and reinforces Cloud’s reputation in commercial sound.
