Nord
Nord occupies three floors of a historic industrial brick building, whose character and charm echo the city’s industrial past. Just a short walk from Stockholm’s major music shop district, the factory sits right in the middle of a community where music and creativity are part of everyday life, and that energy flows directly into the work being done inside.
Inside the factory, Nord keyboards are assembled by hand by a highly dedicated and exceptionally skilled team. Each instrument is carefully put together, component by component, by people who genuinely care about the final result. The work environment is relaxed yet purpose-driven: you will see many smiles, hear laughter in the background, and sense a positive, collaborative atmosphere, even as the staff remain deeply focused on precision and quality. Most members of the team are active musicians themselves, which means they understand the needs and expectations of performers firsthand. This connection to music helps ensure that every keyboard is built not just as a product, but as a trusted instrument meant to be played on stage and in the studio.
Nord has traveled a remarkable path since its early days in a small basement workshop in 1983. What began as a modest, hands-on operation has grown into a respected global brand, known for high-quality, performance-ready instruments used by musicians around the world. This development has been driven by an enduring sense of curiosity, a willingness to experiment, persistent problem-solving, and a deep-seated dedication to craftsmanship. Above all, it has been guided by a genuine and lasting love for music, which continues to shape every decision, every design, and every keyboard that leaves the factory.
